Bisnakandi, conveniently situated near Sylhet on the India-Bangladesh, is a combination of green hills, clouds, a variety of stones and crystal-clear waters flowing from the north-eastern Meghalaya Mountains. Visitors can lie down on the rocks and relax or go for a peaceful swim.

The Border Hut, which is also a market, is located at Bisnakandi’s -Bangladesh border. Although no set schedule is available, the hut is generally open every 4 days. Khasian vendors sell mountain fruit, clothes and cosmetics.

Although tourists can travel to Bisnakandi any time of year, the best time is from September to March. One can reach the main spot and enjoy, however, heavy machinery, as well as stone boats makes it difficult for tourists to travel.

From June to September, the water flows abundantly and the main attraction “Zero Point” could go under water. However, you can make a journey by boat and enjoy a combine view of the green hills and river water.

Bisnakandi is about 39 km from Sylhet town. From Ambarkhana point, many vehicles are available for travel to Bisnakandi. Be aware that the road is a bit narrow and can be difficult to traverse. The cost of renting a CNG auto rickshaw for return trip will be between Tk.1000-1500. However, sharing with other tourists can reduce this cost. A private microbus rental for return trip costs between Tk.3000-4000. Boat rental is Tk.800-1500 for 5 to 6 people. In the dry season, motorbikes or CNG can be rented can be rented. You can rent boat from Pirer-Bazar during rainy season.

Although there are no tourist hotels in Bisnakandi, travellers can stay in nearby Sylhet city.

Although no high-quality tourist restaurants exist in Bisnakandi, temporary, local restaurants are often available.

During the monsoon, the water flows quickly. Tourists are advised not to dash into or attempt to swim in the river. Caution is also advised when walking in the water, because of slippery stones.
